The First Dorchester Volunteer Event

For the first Dorchester LGBT and Dorchester Events volunteer event we distributed food at the American Red Cross - Saturday September 13th . It was fun to give my time and energy to a great volunteer driven organization in Dorchester MA. Four things I loved the most:

1. Seeing who the food goes to and seeing that it's appreciated.
2. Easy work that is really needed.
3. Being around others and sharing stress-free enthusiasm for accomplishing the same goal.
4. Meeting new people from all over Boston- (mainly college students)

Afterward we enjoyed food at Victoria's right across the street. I simple had a hamburger and french fries.  The hamburger was a great, but the fries were awesome. I was also informed by the waitress that every item on the menu was served all day.  One of these days I'm going to have try an evening breakfast.

Our next volunteer experience at the Red Cross is set for Saturday, October 4th. 8 to 12PM. Looking forward to it. RSVP at www.DorchesterLGBT.com or www.DorchesterEvents.com Thank you Peter Hubbard for inviting us to have this experience. Interested in volunteering at the Red Cross?  Volunteers are needed on Wednesdays and Saturdays starting at 8:15AM.  No registration, just show up and sign in.
